Blues Clothing was established over 30 years ago. Blues today is owned by its management and Penta Capital Funds with backing from Allied Irish Bank. The company employs over 70 people based in the UK and Hong Kong. All of those people are focused on and specialise in licensed clothing – from design to sourcing and delivery.
LICENSING PARTNERS
Licenses are core to Blues business and the company works closely and has done for many years with major licensors, studios and agencies including Warner Bros, Fox, Hasbro, CPLG, TLC, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Entertainment One, Hit Entertainment, Mattel, Ludorum, Carte Blanche, Fluid / Sanrio, DRI, Space Enterprises and Entertainment Rights.
CUSTOMERS
Blues works with key retailers throughout Europe. In the UK Blues deals with all the major UK high street retailers including Asda, Tesco, Bhs, Next, Sainsbury, M&S, Mothercare, Argos and Dunnes Stores. In France and Benelux, Blues partners with Sodirep with offices in Paris, Brussels and Lille.
DESIGN
A team of top class clothing designers, based in the London office work closely with all retailers and licensors in developing inspirational product. The team travels extensively and is constantly drawing inspiration from new trends and ideas throughout the world.
SOURCING , MERCHANDISING AND QUALITY CONTROL
Blues sources in the Far East, Europe and the Indian sub-continent. The dedicated sourcing office in Hong Kong is key to Blues being able to deliver top quality, competitive pricing and reliable delivery – all of which are critical to the business. Middle East and European sourcing gives additional flexibility and quick response to sales. The sourcing team is supported by experienced merchandising and quality control teams in the UK and HK.
MANAGEMENT
The business is guided by a strong management team with many years experience in retail, production, sales, design and licensing.
